Well, after concern about weather-related delays or cancellations, I made it to Auckland, New Zealand! Unfortunately they're having unusual weather (rainy and windy) here too. I thought I'd leave that behind in San Francisco. Fairly quiet day. A little walk in the shopping area (Queen Street) and the harbour. Mostly recovering from that crazy long and crowded flight (with an infant right next to me). Lovely room at the Movenpick Hotel Auckland, with a view of the Sky Tower. I don't have a roommate as the only other single woman paid the single supplement. Thanks, Kim!
Met our Group Leader, Les "Harry" Day, and our Auckland Site Coordinator, Ian Selwyn. The other participants are really nice folks.
Happy hour at the hotel was a CHOCOLATE hour. My kinda place. Don't get me wrong, there was a tour group wine happy hour. We have 2 Diane's in the 18 person group. So I'm going by Rocky. Harry is amused that I actually respond to Rocky. Relaxing dinner at the hotel.
I need to go to bed now. Suffice it to say that this is gonna be a great trip!
